Tween Girl's Bedroom Reveal! ORC: Week 6

Welcome to REVEAL DAY, the day we've all been waiting for!

Six weeks ago, I, and 200 guest participants, took on the challenge of decorating a room in a short time. My plan included a fun makeover for my tween daughter's bedroom, a space that she could enjoy as she transitioned into her teens.

As a reminder, here's the before...

After living with pink and green for 10 years, she outgrew her taste for bright colors. She longed for a more muted tone along with age-appropriate accessories. At the onset of the challenge, my daughter asked that I paint the wall a light blue. She was also specific in her request for colorful elements, which I had already envisioned to add to the room. I opted for Basin Blue by Behr to create an almost neutral-looking backdrop.

Now here's the after...

I was so happy to find this beautiful Pottery Barn duvet on eBay. The seller listed it as NWT (new with tags) and believe me when I say I was sold at new. I am so in love with the set, primarily because it allows for different variations of color in the room.

This hot pink faux fur cushion is among one of my favs as well. After watching my daughter's reaction to seeing a similar one online, I decided to DIY from a rug which in my estimation, was the most economical way to go.

A is for Amber

There's this little alcove in the room that I used for her to gather inspiration. I DIY book sleeves with popular sayings for her to read while lying in bed. Most of the books were those I used in school.

The Closet

This is such a dramatic change from what it used to be.

I am so happy to arrive at the finish line. It was worth the effort and even more rewarding watching the excitement in my daughter's eyes as she entered her newly decorated space. She could not stop beaming with delight so I can conclude that she is 'a highly elated and satisfied client'  :)  .

Thank you all for following along. I really appreciate it, and I hope you'll have a great rest of your week.
Also, a very Happy Mother's Day to those of you ladies who work hard to be fabulous.
