One Room Challenge Now

Well, it's here again! I have been procrastinating for a while now, and was surprised when Linda posted, asking each of us to show the rooms we had featured during the One Room Challenge last year.

Here is where I started out. Pretty sad, isn't it? :-)

This was how the room looked at the end of the One Room Challenge.

I had intended to reupholster the sofa but did not get it done.

Well, here's the space today, progressively. I will continually tweak it until I am fairly satisfied.

I am currently working on the gallery wall. The picture is taped to the wall so as not to let it appear too sparse, teehee :-)

My very First Upholstery Project

I know the green seems extremely bold, but I saw it on clearance at Fabric.com for $4/yd and because I needed 7yds of outdoor fabric for my project, I proceeded to purchase it.
I could not believe how easy it was to get done. I will try to do a before and after in another post.

That's all for now. Please head over to Linda's blog and check out how the other rooms are looking today.A big thank you Linda for getting us engaged in this fun challenge:-).

  1. I love that green sofa! It is so cheerful and I cannot believe that you did this as your first upholstery project. You did an amazing job. Don't let anyone sit on it :). Thanks for the update I hope you join in again in April.

    1. Thanks for your kind comment Linda:-) The funny thing is, the fabric threads are so tight that it doesn't even wrinkle. It's amazing, and the kids love it! I will definitely be "on the band wagon" in April.

    1. Thanks Traci. I think the fabric's growing on me. I chose to buy it because it was reasonably priced, which worked in my favor.

    1. Thanks Kate. My daughter loves it, and my toddler who is only 22 months gave his "Wow!" approval as well :-)
